This page has been set up to be used as a guide to "known" game cancellations due to severe/inclement weather -OR- poor field conditions at an ECSA Club location. If necessary, this page is normally updated between 7-8:00 a.m. Saturday. It is the responsibility of each club commissioner to contact the ECSA Commissioner about any cancellation of games at their fields. Everyone feels a sense of disappointment when games are canceled due to field conditions or bad weather. But when fields are closed, it's for good reasons - the safety of the players, staff, fans... everyone.
Games
may be canceled due to unsafe weather or field
conditions. This is done as soon as possible as
there are communication problems canceling on short
notice. ALWAYS assume games will be held unless you
hear or find out otherwise. Light rain is
considered acceptable playing weather in
soccer.
Single
Game Cancellations: Referees have the ultimate
say over whether game conditions are safe. They may
cancel a single game based on their observations.
That is their right and responsibility. Again,
Referees have final authority to call individual
games based on local conditions.
